Pleasant overview of the Twin/Tone series. The lone "hit" on it for me was Halo Of Flies "Rubber Room" that closes out side 1 and was a single and was a standout on their Singles Going Nowhere comp.
There are plenty of bands here that I bought releases of: Otto's Chemical Lounge, The Magnolias, Breaking Circus and The Jayhawks. Where are the Replacements you may ask, well Bob Stinson replacement Slim Dunlop's track credited to Bob Dunlop & Symphonic Fuzz is here as is David Postelwaith backed by Mats Chris Mars and Tommy Stinson. This is a bit of a family affair.
The award for the tracks I liked the best go to Good Joe "Closing Time" and PS "Further To Go." Often with indie rock comps like this it is the "also rans" that are more interesting.
Good drop in of it's day.
