Medicine Show was one of those albums I forgot I even had. It still had the $1.99 sticker on it from Nuggets on Comm Ave in Boston. Pretty sure I got it on a vinyl half off sale around 2000 for a dollar. The Days of Wine and Roses made everything else an afterthought for me despite "John Coltrane Stereo Blues" having a feature role in Nick Zedd's classic short film Thrust In Me.
While that one jump out of the stereo right away, any of the eight tracks on this album could show up in a current Dream Syndicate set. The opener, 'Still Holding On To You," has the best bite but every song on here is a winner only a couple years removed from their debut classic. "Bullet With My Name On It" makes for a particularly pretty ode to suicidal thoughts only to be left in "Merrittville" at the end of the other side.
This bullets got my naaaame on it.
