Every once in a while there is a freak sale on Amazon that reminds me I should list more titles on there even though they take a massive cut.  Although they eliminated 2/3 of distributed CD's individual vendors can sell, they still allow indie singles and books.  This was what drove me to Discogs in 2016 before I even started selling off the vinyl portion of my collection.  This means this single sells for $20 plus shipping and nets me about $13 after mailout for a single that goes for about $2 and change on Discogs.  Not a common occurrence, but there you go.

Perhaps one reason this Red Vinyl copy went for such a high amount is you can't stream it anywhere, at least not YouTube or Spotify.  This is a rare event nowadays and most of Loudspeaker's other catalog can be heard.  At this time, Kurt Wolf's Loudspeaker had 3 singles and an album.  This was the second Loudspeaker single for the prolific Sympathy For The Record Industry label out of Los Angeles who went on to issue a full length release in 1994.

Annoying the A-side of this particular record is mastered so deep into the outer groove that the autostop on my cheap emergency backup turntable cuts out.  Reminds me I gotta finally pull the better turntable and receiver out of storage once and for all except I gotta also coordinate getting these monolith speakers that wound up in my friends storage space.    Anyway, "Knockout!" is the better of these two songs, neither of which I remembered the way I did "Pray."   Still, both sides are the kind of noise rock you would want and expect from Loudspeaker.

Pussy Galore all star Kurt Wolf was on guitar on this one joining Matt Borruso also on guitar and vocals.  Borruso, was a surprise Noise Rock NYC act having made his history playing bass for Crucifix on the Crass label a decade before.  You may remember them from their classic hit "Annihilation" that opened the Dehumanization album.  I know I did.    I'm sure I wrote about this when the "Pray" single sold a couple years back.  Maybe I even assumed Matt was the vocalist and not Cambodia ex-pat Sothira.  It reminds me to start a new feature of the blog posting previously written about records.  I haven't gone back to review what I wrote previously.

I suspect you will find similar variations on a theme.
