This was my very first Hendrix album that I bought at a local yard sale for $0.50, traded and rebought this copy for $1.99 at my local used store. Of the "big 3," Experience albums, I rank this one in the middle. All three of these are different and excellent in their own way. In the end, for me, nothing tops the first.
That said, Axis is a great understated album. Although it has standards like "Little Wing" and "If 6 Was Nine," it isn't as hit packed as the first album. You even get Noel Redding's "She's So Fine."
We go off into space from the start all the way up to the sky. It leaves for the flabbergast interviewer of the opening "ESP" speechless. The rest of the album follows suit.
I'll be on my way...
