Is it hardcore or is it noise rock? Only Bovine Records knows for sure. Fork were from Phoenix, AZ. I only know that because I peeked inside the fold out sleeve. Otherwise I would've thought they were self pressed out of Madison, WI where the label address was from.
Cute audio sample recordings open and close the record. In between is a cross of young sounding Unsane knockoffs meet touring hardcore all out thrash of "Balloon Boy." The band had a short shelf life issuing 2 full singles and a split from 1994-1996. This was the final one. The singer and guitarist Larry didn't join another band. The bass player David Voelkel went on to play in Burn Victim, Foot and Mouth Disease, Hades Mining Co., NPV, Tomsk-7 and, Unholy Semen. Drummer Garey Snider was also in Tomsk-7, whose claim to fame was a split with Japanese sludge band Boris. He also played in Black Rainbow, Eleven Pond, Scarling. and, Sleepmask.
Clearly I bought this record in the dollar singles bin at my then local, Adult Crash on Ave. A. The store was open in the mid-90's when I lived a block over. They morphed into Etheria in the aughts until they finally closed sometime around the turn of the last decade. The bulbous grinning mutant cast head on the cover almost certainly was the reason "I'd buy THAT for a dollar!"
Allegro, Vivacissimo or Andante? I don't wanna talk about Italian food!
Play!!!
