With 4AD, outside of the Birthday Party, Throwing Muses and the occasional Cocteau Twins, I sort've lost the plot on their goth-art catalog. At one point, I actively didn't really like it, so I missed out of Dif Juz in their day for no good reason.
However Dif Juz were devoid of an effete male vocalist dressing in black and slathered in reverb. In fact, they were devoid of any vocals at all. This gives a feel of earlier PiL without a personality to take your mind off the music. This makes for an almost dub experience and there is little surprise that Dif Juz briefly backed Lee Scratch Perry although the results were not released to my knowledge.
Soundpool came at the end of the 90's compiling 2 EP's from 1981.Huremics and Vibrating Air. You also get "No Motion" from the mid-80's label compilation Lonely Is An Eyesore at the end of the CD. The whole thing was enjoyable for me start to finish, and holds up to multiple listens.
Absolutely a catalog for further review.
