The Sub Pop years were the absolute peak of Lou Barlow's Sebadoh powers.  He had some good ones of the mostly tape hiss variety before and an actual hit after with the Folk Implosion after before making his permanent return to Dinosaur Jr.   This time period is not very removed from the "Gimmie Indie Rock" public divorce era.  The EP's this compiles (Rocking The Forest which I paid top Australian import prices for, Sebadoh vs. Helmet which I didn't) continued the Jason, Eric and Lou era that III kicked off, in superior fashion, a great run that probably peaked around Bakesale in 1994.

You get a cool Byrds cover "Everybody's Been Burned" (from Younger Than Yesterday). You get Nick Drake's "Pink Moon" before it was fashionable.  You get retard licks like "Vampire."  You even get your punny kicking the record off!

Crisis!  Cry Sister!

What more could you want?
