Sad To See It Go: No

My copy is a sad tale of record buyers woe with a happy ending.  My copy of Lubricated Goat Plays The Devils Music found a way up against a heat pipe in my Boston apartment one summer.  Deep into the winter, I noticed said record leaning up against a now hot pipe.  The album was warped beyond playability.  Despite this being a $40.00 on Discogs on the low end, I only got 5 bucks remembering a skip on the warp.  Some serious flattening in storage rendered the record playable start to finish, so the buyer got a deal although the warp gave that distinctive warp shlup that the noise often obliterated even in headphones..

Since it's playability stopped in the early 90's, I forgot how good the record was.  Of course the closing gag cover track "Can't Believe We're Really Making Love" was a late teen favorite, but so many cuts stand out now.  "Anal Injury" is probably the best, with its calliope clown ending.  "Hornraiser" continues the same vein.

Stu Spasm has been in NYC for many years since his Australian celebrity years in the raw.   This debut certainly is worthwhile to track down.

Hopefully for $40 you can get a clean play.
