I actively disliked October File when it came out and loved the debut from Die Kreuzen, so I bought it anyway on the coupled cd. I guess I was a bit of a hardcore and noise snob not to mention having a preference for lower vocal registers in the late 80's. It was the same reason I didn't like Ultramega OK by Soundgarden initially but that grew on me also. Over time the evolution of Die Kreuzen sounds better to my ears. The A-side in particular rips to the point where I ask myself what I was thinking to have even the slightest negative thought for such a fine bit of muff shag rock. Who the fuck knows why my brain tweaked further toward this record now.
They covered "Seasons of Wither" by Aerosmith on the companion 7-track EP which I remembered and these 2 single tracks fit right in. I guess this release came before that in white vinyl fancy 6 panel fold out splendor.
A artisans delight!
