Part of the major label trilogy Mudhoney had before going back to Sub Pop no better or worse for wear, Piece of Cake was surprisingly hit laden on a relisten nearly several decades later.

"Suck You Dry" was the bigger number here, but "No End In Sight, "Make It Now" and "Acetone" were all standouts as personal hits of yore. "Blinding Sun" and "Thirteenth Floor Openings" were also live hits.  The rest of the tracks were here and theres.  This release also had untitled snippets between tracks for start to finish excitement, otherwise it was a standard "mid-period" Mudhoney release even though the band had yet to hit the 5 year mark.  You aren't going to find a better Mudhoney album in the next 29 years, but you won't find anything at the level of Superfuzz Bigmuff or the early singles either.  "Suck You Dry" is close.
