Fans of Lightning Bolt should check out this extreme noise rock from a decade before.  The leader was Bill Kellum, founder of VHF Records.  Paint peeling punishment.  This is one of those records that I gave plenty of radio play in it's day so these two songs are classic hits to me.  Don't know what pedal they are using to get that high end squall, maybe a RAT and an octave divider of some sort.  Of course, this is the kind of record that will divide more than octaves.  It will divide annoying people right out of the bar from the 3 people that see the brilliance of Rake.

Never popular on any level, Rake managed to crank out 17 releases from 1990-2002.  This was the very first one.  I also bought the follow up "Motorcycle Shoes" before  letting Rake fade into the dustbins of my mind.  The cranked out cassettes.  They cranked out cds.  They cranked out more singles.  Not only did I never hear any of them, I never knew of their existence until I decided to look at their catalog page.

Life is sometimes like that.
