"You gotta get the Capain Condoms!" said Carreiro, the Red Bliss frontman who worked at the Framingham Newbury Comics when this was released. Captain Condoms were on the infamous Public Bath US label of Japanese noise . You cannot find hide or hair of this band online.
Playing it 30 years later made me think this was a Japanese Big Black/Albini style pummel. One song even sounded like "Pete, King of All Detectives." But the grand finale, "Great Captain" is some anthemic noise rock. The late bass player Tetsuro Nagahashi (passed in 2016) proclaims "I"M THE GREAT CAPTAIN" and the response is indecipherable and slowed down either "super kool" or "super flue" whatever you like, maybe even none of these.
I'm a bit sad that this went now that it can't be tracked down to stream. I remember being at Kim's on St. Marks and seeing the companion import CD on the dollar wall but for some reason I was out of cash and when I checked back to buy it a few days later it was gone.
Superflew!
Or is that Superflu!
ED NOTE: I did find the Super Cool full length release from 1990 streaming.
