A foundational prog album, Pink Floyd's Wish You Were Here recently got a super fancy 50 year anniversary vinyl reissue with liquid in the vinyl. Cool, man! Outside of Dark Side Of The Moon, I would say Wish You Were Here is the most common Floyd title to find in an 8-track lot. I have at least one other copy laying around. The quad version was up on YouTube, so although the one that sold is the regular version, I liked that one so you could get a sense of the fades.
And fades there are! Shine On You Crazy Diamond was always a 9 part suite divided into two parts on the record but here it is faded after part 3 and part 6 finds itself at the end of track 3 fading out before parts 7-9 take over track 4. "Have A Cigar" is also victim to a fade out/fade in over tracks two and three. The sanctity of continuous playback for the order as intended won out over attempting to resequence or adding silence. Apparently the cover art not as important since the legendary burning businessman shaking hands was replaced with the hype sticker title artwork.
After Animals, a must for any serious Floyd tape collector.
