Former Superchunk drummer Chuck Garrison had a band in the mid-90's that was on the lips of almost everyone: Pipe.  Their run was short from 1993-7, but they got around.  The vocalist Ron Liberi, well versed in Black Flag stylings, went on to bands like Zen Frisbee and The Ghost of Rock.  The band returned in 2023 and released a self titled album.

"Ashtray," the A-side features a spirited sandpaper rasping with a little stop-chug-two chord refrain into our hearts.  The flip covers Joy Division.

Not as well of course.
