Solid EP from Julianna Hatfield and John Strohm's late 80's/early 90's band. Indie rock with a capitol I, name checking Nirvana, nicking the title from the Frogs and covering Dinosaur (Jr.) into your heart. I liked a couple songs on this quite a bit--"Downtime" is a good harmony song and "Nirvana" is an ode to music that makes you want to fuck shit up.
"Temptation Eyes" was a Grass Roots cover I didn't really like at the time, but I remembered it so I guess that makes it better than alot of things. The Dinosaur cover was "Severed Lips" from the first album. That was a set opener for them back in 1991, so not as "obscure" as you might think. Maybe this whole release was a little too cool for school looking back at it, but I liked it as much as anything the Blake Babies did save for the song "Lament" which was the bands calling card. As the "Downtime" lyric goes everything falls away in time.
The "sound of now" several decades on.
