Robotic, noisy electroclash dance punk from San Francisco. This was played in the Knitting Factory office when Rubric was there and caught my ear for the opening track. I think it was the "gung gung gung" of the instrumental refrain. Surprisingly for this genre, this record holds up pretty well. This was the sort of band you'd see in a warehouse loft space with the band playing on the floor ala Lightning Bolt or the Coachwhips.
"I'm Shy" is the award winner kicking off the record. They rest of the record continues along it's 20 minutes as in humans were imagining what computers would be like if they wrote about humans in a human narrative. I suppose AI can do that for the human race nowadays. "Human Replace" spells it out in the form of a voice modulator. "We Like Having These Things" comes right after "I'm Shy."
