Like AC/DC before them, the Sydney Australia rockers the Celibate Rifles put out a US debut altered from the releases of their homeland. Quintessentially Yours compiles 3 tracks from the 1982 debut single EP But Jacques, The Fish and highlights from the debut album, 1983's Sideroxylon, to create an 8 track stunner.
The live favorite "Let's Get Married" kicks it off. The grand epic finale was the favorite of mine: "God Squad." The late Damien Lovelock did not take kindly to proselytizing in his relative youth. Neither did I.
As for the rest, everything is great Australian rock. Some would say punk, and they may be right in a loose way. But, Australian punk is it's own breed and the Celibate Rifles stand with the best of any rocking genre.
Those imports could stand a US release.
