"This record goes to the funy farm"-thereversecollector, Age 6

Although I have another copy of Looney Tunes kicking around, the pressing and condition that sold was the copy that I've had since the mid 70's.  This is complete with commentary after each song, where I deduced each song to be "crazy."  I also had a series of checkmarks, astriks and an x.  The only deviation seems to be the Harv Norman cover of "Rubber Duckie."  I was angry that it clearly wasn't Ernie singing this but some fraud.  It sounds better now.  Perverse even.

The core tracks of this compilation are some of the greatest novelty music ever recorded.  My new favorite is horror host John Zacherle's 1958 single "Dinner With Drac."  He was also called "The Cool Ghoul."    I never knew that the 7" split the song up into parts wtih second completely different scenerio.  Gherkins tickle internal workins!

The album kicks off with Napolean XIV's 1966 classic "They're Coming To Take Me Away" where the funny farm was first discussed.  You get TWO Nervous Norvus classics from 1956 "Ape Call" and "Transfusion."

You also get some serious Rock 'n Roll: Two from the Rivingtons--"Papa-Oom-Mow-Mow" from 1962 and the next years "The Birds The Word."  You also get two from The Coasters "Charlie Brown"  and "Along Came Jones" from 1959.  Sam The Sham seduces Little Red Riding Hood.

The country world provides numbers about stuttering (Joe Perkins "Little Effin Annie" from 1963) and wanton nudity (Ray Stevens #1 "The Streak" from 1974).  The TV world gave America Kookie in the 50's and Tiny Tim in the 60's.

The "funy" farm is a fine place to go and live.
