Love and Rockets were one of those bands I never bought anything of in their day yet played on the radio before they blew up commercially at the end of the 80's with "So Alive." The stuff I liked from the first couple albums are contained on this decent overview that came out in 2003.
Daniel Ash & David J were certainly in my collection with Bauhaus. If I was to buy one Love and Rockets album it would probably be Seventh Dream of Teenage Heaven from 1985 which was still in the new bin right when I started radio in early '86. At that time they seemed a natural extension of Bauhaus, unlike the later, more commercial records. My favorite from the first was "Haunted When The Minutes Drag" which made the cut here. With Express from 1986 I liked "Kundalini Express" as well as "Yin and Yang and the Flowerpot Man."
While "No New Tale To Tell" was inescapable, Earth Sun Moon in 1987 was where I started to not pay much attention just as their popularity was picking up. That said, I find this comp a fairly familiar listen over 15 tracks.
It could be sunshine.
Subliminal alt-rock that wormed it's way into my consciousness passively.
