Sprawling double album (and double CD that was released) that dabbles in psych, electronica and spoken word rants that border on the unlistenable.  There is a lot here to wade through and you can't stream it in it's entirety online.  I got this from a friends consignment collection and I didn't really know anything about this duo until I looked into it.  Family of God looked kind of interesting and thankfully the one record that looked like it got some time up against a heating pipe actually played through fairly clean.

Adam Peters was the celloist from Echo and the Bunnymen and played on records by the Triffids and the Flowerpot Men.  He founded Family of God with Chris Brick.  Little is known about who Brick is and what he does.  I guess the scuttlebutt is he was known for running a store called Center For The Dull on Lafayette St in Manhattan.

The title track that opens side two always seems to come up.  Children prattling on about religion with an airy little drum machine and and melodic vocal in the background.  It is endless and always seems to be on when I focus on the record.  "Babble" is the other insufferable track, one of the 6 Discogs was readily linking, though going track by track I'm finding many more youtube posts.  The babbling lounge party includes Elvis Presley, Andy Warhol, Sir John Gielgud, Margaret Thatcher and Hitler. Then Oprah Winfrey and Howard Stern.    "Tynynyny Raindrops" starts with a likeable 60's AM feel rechanneled by indie Brits but gets a little to campy for it's own good. "You Miserable English Creep" does it a little better with some guitar over everything.

There are some interesting cuts.  "Duck Soup" gets the atmosphere right.  "Nirvana" reimagines "Smells Like Teen Spirit" as brass muzak on the deep end. "Dr. Breeze" sounds under the influence of T. Rex.

And so on and on it goes.
