Sad To See It Go: No

Yesterdays write up reminded me I had sold another Peel Out In The States recently that I never got around to listening and writing about.  Turns out "recently" was October of last year!  13 months flew by.  With these Peel shows I like to procrastinate then binge listen to them.  Seems like I was just at WFDU when these were being aired, but 29 years have flown and Peel himself has been in the grave 18 of them.  How could that be?

John Peel was one of the all time greats and his sessions were stuff of legend.  His show followed a certain format.  Indie rock singles (Heavenly) and noise rock (Hammerhead).  The "Yank Sizzler" tag goes to their side of a split with godheadsilo that I had.  Peel comments that he tired of the term but brought it back just for Hammerhead.   Catches Sharon Shannon at Glastonbury?  Now she's immortalized for program 13.

Such are the whims of John Peel.
