Last night as I was listening to this in headphones falling asleep, I was convinced this was better than the other HALO album I wrote about yesterday. Listening in the open air was a different story. Damn thee, full consciousness.
I didn't go to the keyboard until I heard it start to finish after a couple attempts sleep took over mid listen. HALO were 5 albums in at this point, a veteran band. I initially though Body of Light sounded "fuller" and 'heavier." Now I just think of it as endless and redundant. For me it's a reminder of how not every Tom, Dick and Jane can mine Swans turf. That said, there are some nice feedback tones and punishing drums. Still, I find it an ambient experience where one shouldn't waste time learning the song titles.
What a difference a day makes.
