The "concept" of Calamity Jane always seemed better than the actual music.  Three girls that rocked with swirly things in the artwork.  Babes In Toyland did this a bit better, but Calamity Jane had their region of the Pacific Northwest locked up.  I wanted to like Calamity Jane more, giving the Martha Jane Cannary CD a purchase at import price, but I always felt they were 3rd rate next to Babes or even early Hole in quest for grunge queen crown.

Micro listening does little to enhance this feeling.  "Miss Hell" a great title but you shouldn't be thinking that some other band does this so much better when you are listening to a scene band.  You should be thinking the band is kicking ass on there time to shine.  "My Spit" there a little "Western" twang in the vocals, so I guess that's the original slant.
