For the Sebadoh completist, this EP is the definition of detritus. Lou Barlow was in his peak period his Sub Pop years, and Bakesale, where the acoustic numbers exist in their proper form, are all classics.
I not saying Lou isn't an able acoustic performer. I'm certain I saw him at Maxwells in this format around this time period and enjoyed the night. For me these recorded performances strip the songs of what made them great. A/B the two Rebound versions if you want to know what I'm saying. The best part of the song is the bass going glang/glang/glang. All fine and good for a stopgap In fact, "On Fire" was the debut release of the song, since it didn't come out in proper form until Harmacy the next year.
Great songs deballed of a band or even Sentridoh style tape wankery.
