Very difficult to have anything to say about this album that didn't make the cut of VU, the 1984 release of 1969 Velvet Underground sessions that ushered in the divorce of Reed and Cale, never to be issued in it's day. Another View is padded out with outtakes from 1967 and 1968.
These tracks have found their way into other reissues, box sets and super editions. As it's own start to finish listen, Another View is quite listenable and a bit more easily digested in this format. They could get buried in the Peel Open and See box set, for example. You get a couple versions of "Hey Mr. Rain" for your loyalty of having all things Velvets. The oldest cut is a late ' 67 rocking instrumental "Guess I'm Falling In Love." "Ferryboat Bill" is a fun short and long of it refrain, before an embryonic-sounding "Rock and Roll" wraps it up.
This was a "play once and file away" purchase, exhausting in it's exhaustion.
